Kotaku's Jason Schreier has once again blown the whistle: According to an inside source, dozens of Amazon Game Studios employees reportedly lost their jobs on the last day of E3 2019. On Thursday morning, those affected apparently got the info that they have 60 days from now to apply for a new position within the company. Those who don't find a job will receive a severance package at the end of that period.
The source claims that Amazon executives are also said to have stopped development on several previously unannounced games projects. The plan is now to restructure the teams in order to fully concentrate on the development of the online role-playing game New World as well as the third-person title Crucible. Apparently, there are also unannounced projects that have not been put on hold.
All of this was later confirmed by Amazon to Kotaku. However, they wouldn't say exactly how many employees were let go, but they are working closely with everyone affected to help them find a new role within the company.
We're keeping our fingers crossed for all those laid off!
