World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor will introduce several improvements to the PvP mechanics. In order to reduce the disparity between character stamina in PvP and PvE, Blizzard Entertainment will double the amount of base health and introduce changes to the healing system.
Blizzard Studio has announced changes to the gameplay mechanics of Player vs. Player mode that the Warlords of Draenor expansion pack will bring to the MMORPG World of Warcraft. The developers admit that the current system makes players feel much weaker in PvP than in PvE. To reduce this disproportion, they decided to double the amount of health and reduce the effectiveness of critical strikes (from 200% damage to 150%). Of course, this will involve an increase in damage inflicted by computer opponents and the adjustment of healing spells. As a result, our hero will be a bit tougher in clashes with other players, but the traditional gameplay will remain without major changes.
- World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor in a nutshell
- Producer: Blizzard Entertainment
- Genre: MMO (expansion)
- Special features: the most extensive expansion in WoW history
- Target platforms: PC
- Release Date: (November?) 2014
The developers also took care of a better balance of "healers". Firstly, healing may seem a little less efficient, as it will not be increased proportionally to the new damage of monsters. Secondly, so called intelligent healing will be slightly "dumbed down" (instead of healing the most injured character, a random player will receive support). Thirdly, mana cost of area spells will be increased (and some weaker spells will be removed completely), so player will have to calculate which type of healing is the most profitable at the moment. As a result of these changes, playing as a healer will be more interesting and thought-provoking. Details of the discussed improvements can be found on the official World of Warcraft blog.
