According to the official Chinese WoW website, players in China who had an active WoW subscription from Feb. 1 to Feb. 29 can claim seven days of free game time starting March 18. The reason for this is the difficult conditions in February, which were caused by the Covid -19 pandemic. Since more players than usual wanted to get on the WoW servers, the queues were much longer than normal and also the servers themselves ran unstable.

Chinese players have already been following the usual subscription model for a while and no longer pay their game time per hour, but monthly. Because of this news, of course, some players in the rest of the community are now demanding free game time. At the moment, however, we can't assume that this will happen. China is considered to be the country of origin of the Covid -19 virus and was thus one of the countries most affected by the consequences of the pandemic at the beginning of the outbreak in relation to other countries. Players in the EU should therefore not get their hopes up for seven days of free play time, even though the EU country Italy is currently one of the most endangered countries.

Blizzard is offering 7 free days of game time for World of Warcraft subscribers in China.

This is due to poor performance and downtime that has affected players in February during the COVID-19 lockdown.
