Original news from February 3, 2020:
You may have noticed: In September 2019, fans of World of Warcraft (buy now € 14.99 ) could buy old server blades for a good cause, on which various WoW realms were at home between 2010 and 2016. The entire proceeds from the sale of the server blades went to the Pencils of Promise foundation, and the blades cost $300 each plus shipping costs.
it took just under three months for the blades to arrive at the buyers, and opening the packages in many cases came with an unpleasant surprise: The shipping company had not adequately protected the blades, and many of the Plexiglas covers were broken or cracked. Of course, they were no longer suitable as a chic collector's item, and numerous pictures of the damaged blades were posted on Reddit and the like.
According to Wowhead, however, those affected have now received an email from Blizzard offering them a refund or replacement for the server blade. Specifically, buyers can decide whether to
- for their damaged server blade, have a free replacement (only as long as server blades are available), the damaged server blade must be sent back to Blizzard at the company's expense.
- want to have a free replacement for their damaged plexiglass cover, nothing needs to be sent back.
- for the order want a refund of the money, the damaged server blade must be sent back to Blizzard here also at the expense of the company.
