WoW: Fans want more interesting mounts like a cute otter

Mounts in World of Warcraft (buy now ) are a topic for scholars and philosophers. Why, for example, is Black Warhorse described as being able to withstand the "fiercest hand-to-hand combat " when we are lying in the mud after a few blows? And why are there only heaps of horses, nags and steeds for the members of the alliance? The latter in particular is a constant source of controversy, causing the community to pounce on innovative designs that don't yet exist in the game. In the latest case, WoW players on the subreddit /r/wow have put an otter mount

This adorable four-legged friend comes from the imagination of Natacha Nielsen. The character designer submitted the otter to the Blizzard 2017 Student Art Contest and won first place in the Character Art category. In the meantime, Nielsen has even become an Associate Character Artist at Blizzard - so she has made quite an impression at the game forge. She is also responsible for the Blood Elf Heirloom armor in Patch 8.1 and the new look for the Far Riders.

Enthusiasm and cynicism at the same time among WoW players

On Reddit, WoW players are definitely excited about the otter design, but they are also cynical about the implementation. Thus, you can find comments like "Yes, this would end up in the store for $25", "Of course, $29.99 in the store - LIMITED ORDER" or "I smell Blizzard's first $40 mount!". Many visibly doubt whether such a mount, were it to find its way into the game, could be grabbed directly by playing WoW.
