The expansion World of Warcraft Shadowlands is live, and the next bug fixes and adjustments were delivered today in the form of hotfixes.

Below you can read the official patch notes. Hotfixes are updates that are applied server-side without the need to download new data. Some of the changes listed below will take effect as soon as Blizzard implements them, while others will only take effect after an announced realm restart. Please note that some issues cannot be fixed without a client-side patch. The full version 9.0.2 patch notes for Shadowlands can be found in this article. WoW: Shadowlands Patch 9.0.2 Hotfixes from January 26, 2021

Achievements

  • "Torghast friendship to the power of two" and "Torghast friendship to the power of five" are now unlocked account-wide.

Pacts

  • Kyrian
    • The map marker for the quest "Gorm, Go Away!" is now more visible on the map.
  • Necrolords
    • Fixed a bug that prevented player characters from entering the Inquisitor's Crypt after opening the door during the quest "The Final Word."
  • Venthyr
    • Fixed a bug where the buff Theotar's Furor sometimes did not last beyond death during the quest "Lower Their Guard."

Creatures and NPCs

  • Darvel the Frugal now grants the designated faction discount.

Dungeons & Raids

  • Castle Nathria
    • Council of Blood
      • [After server restarts in each region] Dread Bolt Volley damage has been reduced by 20% for smaller raid groups in the raid browser and on Normal and Heroic difficulty. For raid groups of 30 players, the damage remains unchanged.
      • [After server restarts in each region] Drain Essence damage has been reduced by 20% for smaller raid groups in the raid browser and on Normal and Heroic difficulty. For raid groups of 30 players, the damage remains unchanged.
      • [After server restarts in each region] The duration of Dark Speech has been reduced to 6 seconds (previously 7 seconds) on Normal and Heroic difficulty.
    • Silt Fist
      • [After server restarts in each region] The damage of Colossal Roar has been reduced by 10% on Mythic difficulty.
      • [After server restarts in each region] The damage of Chain Smash and Chain Bleed has been reduced by 35% on Mythic difficulty.
    • Generals of the Stone Legion
      • [After server restarts in each region] The health of Goliaths of the Stone Legion has been reduced by 10% on Mythic difficulty.
      • [After server restarts in each region] Goliaths of the Stone Legion's Insatiable Feasting ability cooldown increased by 6 sec on Mythic difficulty.
      • [After server restarts in each region] The health of Stone Legion Skirmishers has been reduced by 6% on Mythic difficulty.
      • [After server restarts in each region] Damage from Jagged Rift and Stone Fist has been reduced by 20% on Mythic difficulty.
      • [After server restarts in each region] The range of Serrated Strike, Serrated Rift, and Stone Fist has been increased to 100 yards (previously 10 and 20 yards).
        • Developer Comment: We've made some changes to this encounter that not only lower the difficulty a bit overall, but also make the fight feel consistent across multiple attempts. This means that while you can no longer dodge certain abilities, they are more manageable when combined with other abilities. Additionally, the order in which these abilities are used is now more predictable.
      • [After server restarts in each region] The range of Heartbreaker has been increased to 300 meters (previously 10 meters).
      • [After server restarts in each region] On Mythic difficulty, Heartbreaker no longer inflicts Hemorrhage on the player character that bans the magic effect.
      • [After server restarts in each region] General Kaal and General Grashaal spell cooldowns will now complete at the start of each new phase.
      • [After server restarts in each region] The absorption shield of the Explosive Stone Shell ability has been reduced by 20% on Mythic difficulty.
  • Mythic Keystone Dungeons
    • [After server restarts in each region] Manifestations of Pride affixes can no longer be fooled by stealth or invisibility.
  • Plague Fall
    • Margravine Stradama
      • [After server restarts in each region] The health and damage of Plaguebound minions have been reduced by 40%.
      • [After server restarts in each region] The frequency of use of Infectious Rain during the final stage has been reduced.
      • [After the server restarts in each region] The timing of Plague Blast has been slightly adjusted to allow more time between tentacle attacks.
  • The Bloody Depths
    • [After server restarts in each region] Fixed a bug where flying chamber guards did not count towards the required number of defeated enemies on Mythic Keystone difficulty.
    • Kryxis the Gluttonous
      • [After server restarts in each region] Reduced the damage of Separating Smash by 20% on all difficulty levels.
      • [After server restarts in each region] Essence Absorption damage has been reduced by 20% on Mythic difficulty.
    • Executioner Tarvold
      • [After server restarts in each region] Fugitive Manifestations health has been reduced by 20%.
  • The Spires of Ascension
    • [After server restarts in each region] Lakesis, Klotos, and Astronos are now no longer affected by mythic keystone affixes that trigger upon death (e.g. Bloody).
    • [After server restarts in each region] Lakesis, Klotos, and Astronos' Suppression now increases damage taken per stack by 1% (previously 2%).
  • The Necrotic Aisle
    • When Bloody Javelin and Discharged Anima hit more than eight enemies, the total damage is split evenly between all targets.
    • Kyrian weapons (Bloody Javelin, Discarded Shield, Discharged Anima, and Forgotten Hammer) now persist beyond death.
    • [After server restarts in each region] The damage of Morsch Bone Crossbowmen and Morsch Bone Warriors has been reduced by 20%.
    • [After server restarts in each region] Fixed a bug where Shoot from Morse Bone Crossbowmen ignored armor.
    • [After server restarts in each region] The damage of Morse Bone Mages' Frostbolt Volley ability has been reduced by 20% and the cast time has been increased to 3.5 sec (previously 2.5 sec).
    • [After server restarts in each region] The damage of Morse Bone Mages' Frostbolt ability has been reduced by 36% and the cast time has been increased to 2.5 sec (previously 2 sec).
    • [After server restarts in each region] The health of Corpse Harvesters and Corpse Collectors has been reduced by 29%.
    • [After server restarts ineach region] Health of Patched Up Vanguard has been reduced by 14%.
    • [After server restarts in each region] Nar'zudah health has been reduced by 20%.

Items and Rewards

  • The Unfathomable Quantum Device now counts all allied player characters within range as valid targets, regardless of party status.
  • The Unfathomable Quantum Device now also counts the wearer as a valid target to grant mana if a healing specialization is active.
  • The Unfathomable Quantum Device will no longer attempt to execute enemies that are already dead.
  • Fixed a bug where Scheme Dog Armor could not be obtained in the Maw. The quest item can now be obtained by completing the Hunting: Scheme Dogs event.

PvP

  • [After server restarts in each region] In 2vs2 arenas, Attenuation now starts at 20% when both teams have either a tank or a healer.
  • [After server restarts in each region] Player characters now deal 20% less damage to Death Knight, Hunter, and Warlock pets.
  • [After server restarts in each region] The Necrolord ability "Fleshforming" can now be used in the starting area of Battlegrounds and Arenas.
  • The mine lorries in the Silver Quarry Mine Battleground now no longer take damage from spells or abilities.
  • Druid
    • [After server restarts in each region] The Night Fae ability Convocation of Spirits no longer affects Full Moon and Feral Frenzy in PvP.
  • Paladin
    • Holy
      • [After server restarts in each region] The cooldown of the PvP talent Divine Favor has been increased to 30 sec (previously 25 sec). The talent now increases spell speed by 30% (previously 60%).
    • Protection, Retribution
      • [After server restarts in each region] Word of Glory healing has been reduced by 20% in PvP.
  • Mage
    • [After server restarts in each region] The effectiveness of the medium "Infernal Cascade" has been reduced by 33% in PvP.
    • [After server restarts in each region] The shields of the legendary effect Triune Protection now have 50% effectiveness in PvP (previously 65%).

The Maw

  • [After server restarts in each region] Player characters using Devil's Rage or similar movement abilities can now return souls to Gatherer Marissa for the Wounded and Scarred quest as intended.

Torghast, Tower of the Damned

  • The cooldowns on the following spells will now trigger if they are cancelled in any way: Terror, Nature's Abundance, Deafening Howl, and Phase Shifting Roar. Previously, the cooldown was only triggered when they were directly interrupted by abilities (such as Counterspell, Kick, Slam, etc.).

    • Death Knight
      • Rune Hunter will now no longer cause additional runes to appear in Cinder Phylacteries if all eight runes are already active.
