Update from September 10:
In an extensive forum post last night, Game Director Ion Hazzikostas thanked us for the constructive feedback on the PvP merchant offer, among other things. The developers basically agree with the criticism. While they certainly believe that the strongest characters in Azeroth should be those who successfully participate in different areas of the game, each area on its own should equip participants with the tools necessary to succeed in just that area. With the PvP merchants, the developers are currently not achieving the latter goal.
designers are currently considering how best to fix this construction site
.
Revising the stats of the PvP merchants' items is on the table, as is providing PvP-specific bonuses through these items. As soon as a decision is made, the developers will release an appropriate update.
Original news from 08 September:
For a few days now, the beta of WoW (buy now 14,99 € ): Shadowlands the PvP area has been the focus of the developers and testers. Some players have taken the opportunity to point out a major problem they discovered with the new PvP merchants and their armor offerings (via Icy Veins).
One major point of criticism is that the PvP merchants' offerings are severely limited in terms of item stats. There are no capes with speed or versatility and no rings with versatility and mastery. In general, there are only three item variants for each slot. If you're looking for just such items for PvP, you'll have to take on PvE challenges like raids and Mythic Plus dungeons.
Thislimited offer could be compensated for with a special PvP value that is only available on PvP items, like hardening was back then, and that gives you such a big advantage in PvP battles that you are happy to forgo the optimal value combination for it
.
But since there is no such special PvP value in Shadowlands (and according to Ion Hazzikostas there won't be), the current offer of the PvP merchants is all the more negative.
Stoopzz_TV has recently dealt with this criticism in an extra video
