The Shadowlands are among the greatest mysteries of World of Warcraft. The afterlife includes countless realms that welcome the souls of the dead from Azeroth and many other worlds. Our heroes get to explore four of these realms in WoW: Shadowlands. And although the Bastion, the necropolises of Maldraxxus, the wintry Ardenwald, and the gloomy lands of Revendreth belong to the same domain, these realms of the dead are fundamentally different. Finally, the four Shadowlands domains differ greatly not only visually, but thematically as well. These contrasts can be seen well in the new in-game images and artwork that Blizzard's development team released just a few hours ago.
WoW: New keyart of Bolvar and many more images from Shadowlands (1) Source: Blizzard The new cover image (key art) of WoW: Shadowlands is particularly impressive! We see Bolvar leading a massive Death Knight army in the Maw. He wields his battle hammer, which was already seen in the trailer for Shadowlands. In the background we see the menacing silhouette of the black tower Torghast. The ice-blue sky above the Icecrown, which appears like a small window over Torghast, is the only connection between the realm of the dead and Azeroth, the realm of the living.

Sketches from the Shadowlands artbook show the tower in its full glory. Torghast literally floats in the air. In addition, the dungeon houses plenty of monsters and dangerous creatures besides malicious souls. However, the highlight for us are the eerie death elementals that embody the corrupted anima energy.

Finally, here are beautiful and atmospheric screenshots from the Bastion, the Forest of Arden, Revendreth and the Maw.
