When Blizzard introduced the transmogrification system towards the end of WoW (buy now €14.99 ) Cataclysm, there were still a whole bunch of restrictions. Many of them have been loosened over the years, sometimes significantly. For example, nowadays you are no longer limited to certain weapon types, and the amount of items that can be used as templates has also grown steadily. In addition, there have been general improvements to the system. Instead of carrying all the templates around in your pocket, the game saves all the matching items that have ever been attached to your soul. This gives experienced players a massive catalog of possible templates to choose from. In the upcoming patch 8.3 , this template catalog will now be expanded to include some of WoW's most famous legendary weapons - assuming you've owned them at some point.
Initially, thenew Legendarys came with hardly any restrictions. Only the wargleves of Azzinoth were supposed to be reserved for demon hunters to transmogrify, although various other classes could also carry them. Shortly before the patch was applied, however, Blizzard added further restrictions. These concern the Legendarys, which could be acquired via quest series. Val'anyr, Hammer of the Ancient Kings, Dragon's Wrath, Tarecgosa's Last Rest, and the combination of Golad, Twilight of Aspects and Tiriosh, Nightmare of the Ages will be reserved in Patch 8.3 for classes that were able to complete the respective quests at the time.
- Val'anyr, Hammer of the Ancient Kings: druid, monk, paladin, priest and shaman
- Dragon's Wrath, Tarecgosa's Last Rest: Druid, Mage, Priest, Shaman and Warlock
- Golad, Twilight of the Aspects and Tiriosh, Nightmare of the Ages: Rogue
- Wargleve of Azzinoth: Demon Hunters who have obtained the War Gleves as part of a Time Walk event.
