Death knights and demon hunters belong to the so-called hero classes in WoW and therefore enjoy a special status. However, the upcoming Shadowlands expansion ensures that demon hunters and death knights move a bit closer to the other classes. While Death Knights now enjoy virtually no level advantage, Shadowlands also removes Blizzard's restrictions on hero class hair colors.

Pink hair for night elves, blue hair for blood elves

To the delight of the WoW community, Ion Hazzikostas announced on Twitter (via Wowhead) that the developers want to make the hair colors that were previously reserved for demon hunters and death knights available to all classes in Shadowlands:

So if you've always wanted to create a character with the pink hair color of night elf death knights or the blue hair color of blood elf death knights, Shadowlands gives you the opportunity to do so. However, the colors remain limited to the race for whose Death Knight version they were previously available. Also, the glowing blue eyes and the tattoos and horns remain reserved for the respective hero classes Death Knight and Demon Hunter.

By the way, fans are demanding on Twitter that Blizzard also remove the restrictions on skin colors and, for example, make completely white-furred Tauren possible outside of the Death Knight class or additional skin colors for Demon Hunters. Whether Blizzard will act on this remains to be seen - Hazzikostas has not yet officially commented on these requests.
