Despite the name, the hero classes in WoW actually have only one advantage over the other classes - they don't start at level one, but much higher and thus have a shorter leveling path. However, this was and is accompanied by restrictions. Currently, you are only allowed to have one demon hunter per server in your character family. The Death Knight was also regulated in this way for a long time, but this was lifted in the past. Blizzard wanted to prevent the new classes from being used excessively to bring twinks to maximum level and then only use them for professions, for example.
In the course of the complete redesign of the entry into the game, demon hunters will no longer start shortly before the endgame, but with level 8 only a few levels higher than the other classes. While Warrior, Paladin and Co. fight their way through the starting area of their race or the new tutorial starting area, Demon Hunters complete their own starting area. Afterwards, both classes have reached level 10 and then decide on the further leveling path.
Since you can no longer bring a demon hunter to the maximum level significantly faster than other classes, Blizzard also abolishes the limitation at the same time. So as soon as WoW Shadowlands is released (or as soon as the pre-patch is active), you can have more than one Demon Hunter per server.
Our plan is to remove the one-Demon-Hunter-per-realm restriction with the Shadowlands pre-patch, since that is the point at which Demon Hunters will no longer start at a very high level. https://t.co/F3pGu2LvkJ-
