Recently, the developers at Blizzard published a first, comprehensive overview of the planned class customizations for WoW: Shadowlands. When designing the rogue in Legion and Battle for Azeroth, the designers admitted that it may not have been the best decision to separate the individual specializations so much that they ended up feeling "a little lean."

With Shadowlands, therefore, the rogue's playstyles should regain many distinctive abilities without losing their uniqueness.

One of the most striking changes is certainly that all three rogue specializations in Shadowlands can master the basics of poison-mongering and smear toxic enhancements such as instant-action, crippling, or paralyzing poison on their blades. Assassin rogues continue to particularly shine in this area, however, as they can deal an especially large amount of poison damage in a short amount of time with the returned Treacherous Blade ability. They are also said to be able to apply poisons faster and their toxins turn out to be a bit stronger.

Furthermore, in the gameplay of the assassins, the powerful dagger attack Ambush should play a role again. As before, you can use the ability from stealth. However, thanks to the reworked talent Miracle Point, Ambush can always be available outside of Stealth.

There

is also news for Lawlessness

.

Doom Dice will get a variable cooldown, Kidney Chop will become a standard stun finisher again, and the reworked version of Between the Eyes will make your victim more vulnerable to the villain's critical attacks in the future. Plus: Escape returns, Riposte becomes a talent, and Retractable Hook also increases the speed of grappling hooks in Shadowlands, allowing you to hop to the target position extra nimbly.

Deception Rogues, meanwhile, can rejoice

in the fact

that Detect Weakness becomes a base enhancement: "Stealth attacks and other abilities allow these Rogues to bypass the enemy's armor

and

ensure that Eviscerate deals additional Shadow damage. Detect Weaknesses can also mark a large number of enemies for the area attack Shadow Leap, the new finishing move of the Deception Rogues. This attack also causes targets to suffer additional Shadow damage from Weakness Detect. "

In Shadowlands, Shadow Dance is enhanced by default with the bonuses of Dark Shadow: Shadow Dance's damage is increased

.

In return, you will be able to use the ability less frequently. Bleed also returns and replaces Night Blade. If you want to slow down enemies, you can use the poisons in the future.
