WoW: Shadowlands will be released on October 27, 2020 and will take our heroes into the mystical beyond of World of Warcraft. On our new adventure journey, we'll get to know the inhabitants of the Shadowlands and their powerful leaders. At the end, we have to choose one of four pacts. In exchange for our loyalty, we will not only receive extraordinary companions and abilities that will influence our play style in the upcoming expansion, but also other exciting rewards such as transmog sets, mounts and pets.

The

choice of pact is undoubtedly at the heart of Shadowlands, after all, the fate and future of our heroes will be determined by the pact. But there is more behind the decision. Because even after your virtual death in the afterlife, the Kyrians, the Necrolords, the Nachtfae or the Venthyr have an eye on you! If you face too many enemies in the Shadowlands and pixel death befalls you in the afterlife, the pacts will intervene and set up a gate for you that will bring you back to the Shadowlands. Depending on the pact, no special spirit healer awaits you, but a different afterlife in each case.

Admittedly, the whole procedure with death in the realm of the dead sounds a bit macabre, but the four different "spirit release" animations of the Otherworlds are quite impressive. In these videos from Wowhead you can take a closer look at what happens to you after death in Shadowlands.
