"With the Mausoleum of the First, the final raid of the current WoW expansion has been open for several weeks and the eleven bosses in it have already fallen victim to the brave heroes hundreds and thousands of times. And you can say what you want about Shadowlands - and the early patches in particular were criticized harshly, and quite rightly so - but the raids and the bosses in them are definitely among the best we've been able to experience in over 17 years of WoW.

It's almost uncanny how the developers always manage to pull cool, new mechanics out of the hat, or combine old mechanics so skillfully that they seem new and fresh. Of course, Shadowlands also has a few pipe-drops - bosses that were neither challenging nor exciting in any other way. However, the amount was kept within limits. In return, we got a number of bosses that we'll still remember with a smile on our lips many years from now.

These are exactly the bosses we want to present to you today - the top 5 bosses of the buffed editorial team! And finally, we might give out one or two "very special" awards. Because not all bosses will be remembered because they were good.

In the following video you can find our complete ranking in perfect overview:

Season of Mastery Final Raid Landing Soon on the PTR

We'll soon find out what changes Blizzard is planning for the final raid of WoW: Season of Mastery.

Rank 5 - Sylvanas Wind Runner

The fight against Sylvanas was extremely cool - but also extremely long. Source: buffed The fifth place in our ranking is taken by the former leader of the Horde - Sylvanas Windrunner. The fight against the Banshee, and there can't be two opinions about it, is staged splendidly and fits perfectly in terms of mechanics and presentation.
In our eyes, however, the fight could have been a bit shorter. The first two phases in particular aren't particularly challenging, but they take an extremely long time and have to be played over and over again in order to practice the final phase. Therefore it was only enough for 5th place.

4th place - Rescue the Sun King

Saving the Sun King was finally a healer boss again. Source: Blizzard

On the 4th place sorts itself with us to be the salvation of the Sun King. And we are aware that many like this battle even less than pink-haired gnomes. But the healer mechanics, the nostalgia thanks to Kael'thas, and the constant pressure on healers and damage dealers to keep the tight timings have flushed this fight to fourth place in our rankings.

Rank 3 - Lady Inerva Dunkelader

Inerva Dunkelader offered us a cool mechanic where we were allowed to decide for ourselves. Source: Blizzard

The lowest place on the podium belongs to none other than Lady Inerva Dunkelader - especially, of course, because of the special mechanics. Similar to the Thunder King, the name of the game was: Pick your Poison! We were allowed to determine which boosted abilities we wanted to take on and which we preferred to delay as long as possible by operating the containers. A good design and, this should not be neglected, a very good balancing are enough for third place here.

2nd place - Anduin Wrynn

Anduin is for many the real final boss in the Mausoleum of the First! Source: Blizzard

The silver medal goes to the leader of the Alliance. Anduin was the real final boss in Mausoleum of the First for most, and we agree. Spoiler: The dungeon master didn't even begin to make our list. Three stages, two intermediate stages, plenty of abilities and a reunion with an old acquaintance make this fight a true spectacle. Unfortunately, the developers threw so many nerfs at the young king that the fight isn't quite as exciting by now due to the low difficulty level.
