The fact that WoW underwent extensive development in many ways before its release in 2005 is nothing new. Nevertheless, it can sometimes be interesting and surprising to look at old gameplay footage from earlier development phases of Blizzard's online role-playing game. The catch: the footage is often no longer in the best visual condition. But the WoW community has a solution for that, too.
Back in 2003, in the world of Warcraft....
The Youtuber SnazzyAI, who regularly publishes upscaled versions of WoW trailers, recently took on a gameplay trailer for World of Warcraft from 2003. This trailer is from the disc version of Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne and gives a rare glimpse of gameplay from a pre-beta phase of WoW.

We even get a glimpse of the Death Mines. WoW fans who have not yet seen the trailer should definitely not miss the upscaled verison - because the trailer clearly shows how WoW has changed visually compared to today and what has happened in more than 15 years of WoW since 2003.
